About Brendan Riordan

Organic Vegetable Farmer: Brendan Riordan of Riordan Family Farm is a husband of 31 years, father of three, organic vegetable farmer, minister and certified herbalist. His dream was to move out of the city and purchase some land where he could continue his passion for growing plants and start a farm. That passion eventually led to Brendan starting a vegetable farm in upstate New York. “I really enjoy using high tunnels to grow crops in Upstate New York, zone 4b near Canada. It’s like gaining one or two growing zones. Tomatoes and Cucumbers absolutely love the warm high tunnel environment and yield like they’re in the tropics.” An advocate of natural health, Brendan says, “Growing our own medicinal herbs was the logical next step in growing crops. Cayenne pepper is my go to herbal medicine for almost everything from warmer-upper, immune booster, to bleed stop. There are so many easy to grow medicinal herbs that you can grow in your garden, like Lemon Balm, Garlic and Cayenne pepper to name a few. The forest and field also abound with medicinal herbs. I see herbs as God’s healing gift to mankind.” They can be used for whatever prescription medicine is used for.
Herbalist: Brendan is a certified Family Herbalist through the school of Natural Healing and is available to help those seeking natural and herbal alternatives for their health. He offers in – office and phone consultations. He believes the body can heal itself if given the proper nutrition and herbal intervention. Brendan also believes in the power of prayer to heal and is willing to pray for any who desire it.
