The Benefits of Vitamin C

This is a good video from Dr. Thomas E. Levy the author of Curing the Incurable. He discusses his interest in the benefits of Vitamin C and some of the ailments that may be treated simply with a high dosage of Vitamin C. He talks about how he was first introduced to it by a dentist who was using it for his patients and how they recovered much faster than usual.

Immune Function Benefits

A lot of people take vitamin C supplements to boost their immunity.  Vitamin C affects many parts of the immune system.

Vitamin C helps with the production of white blood cells. White blood cells are also known as lymphocytes and phagocytes and they help protect the body against infection. It also helps white blood cells function more effectively and protects them from damage by free radicals.

Vitamin C is a necessary element of the skin’s defense system where it serves as an antioxidant and helps strengthen the skin’s barriers. There are studies which show that taking vitamin C may shorten the time it takes to heal wounds.

  • This is interesting. I knew that Vitamin C has to be replaced once a day and for smokers even more so, but I had no idea that we basically need much more than your daily allowance to heal. Thanks for sharing. I am going to triple or quadruple my vitamin C intake.
