Carrot Juice Can Turn You Orange
Carrot Juice is Amazing
I have recently been interested in boosting my health and immune system. One of the best things that I have found to improve my health is to add vegetable juices to my diet and one of the best juices that I have found is carrot juice.
Carrot juice has so many essential nutrients like vitamins A, B6, C, D, E and K as well as magnesium, iron, potassium and calcium. It is full of antioxidants like vitamin C, beta carotene, lycopene, lutein and zeaxanthin.
Some of the health benefits of carrot juice:
- Provides antioxidants
- Good for your eyes
- Helps in healing wounds
- Skin care and health
- Helps prevent tooth decay
- Assists in cancer prevention
One of the most important vitamins that carrots contain is vitamin A. One cup of carrots provide over 400% of recommended daily intake of vitamin A. Vitamin A is a powerful antioxidant and provides your body with the ability to reduce inflammation by fighting free radical damage.
I like to add more to my carrot juice to give it some extra flavor. I have been adding ginger, cucumber and apples. Sometimes I will add a beet to give it a different flavor and boost the detoxifying effect of my juice.
So what about the stories of people turning orange when they eat too many carrots or drink a lot of carrot juice. Yes it is true! This is because the beta carotene that your body doesn’t use gets into your bloodstream and is stored in the outermost layer of the epidermis which you see as a lovely orange color. Start your carrot diet early and be an oompa loopma for halloween.
I haven’t turned orange yet but I really like the effect of my carrot, beet, apple and ginger juices. We would love to hear about your favorite juices. Join the discussion on Facebook.
